USC has intensified a growing crisis at Wisconsin for Luke Fickell

How are the people in Wisconsin handling the state of the Badgers after USC crushed UW in the second half? Not very well. This is a big mess for Luke Fickell.

When USC beat Wisconsin on Saturday, it might have felt like an ordinary performance for the Trojans, who were bad in the first half and great in the second half. USC didn’t play its best game but rescued itself after an atrocious 30 minutes. USC does not look like an elite team, though you can see the potential when the Trojans play their best, as they did after halftime. On the other side of that game, however, Wisconsin football is in deep, deep trouble under coach Luke Fickell. At least, that’s what a lot of people in and around the Wisconsin program think. Via Badgers Wire, the noise and discontent inside the program are becoming louder. The grumbling is harder to avoid noticing:

One topic of discussion looked back to the team’s 38-21 loss to No. 11 USC, and specifically to the group of notable Badgers alumni expressing their displeasure with the current state of the program.

A significant example of that is Jack Cichy (Badgers linebacker from 2013-2017), who took to social media on Sunday to give his thoughts on the current state of affairs. His opinion on the program’s changing identity appears to be shared by many former players, several of whom are now publicly stating those opinions.

Program legend Braelon Allen’s cryptic tweet about his experience with the Badgers in 2023 only added to that discussion.

If you felt 2023 at USC was bad, 2024 at Wisconsin is clearly worse.
