Report: Colts QB Anthony Richardson ‘day to day’ with injury

According to the NFL Network, Colts QB Anthony Richardson is “day to day” after exiting Sunday’s game with an injury.

Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Anthony Richardson is “day to day” with oblique and abdominal strains, according to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Pelissero adds that his sources told him that Richardson does have a chance to play this week.

On Monday, head coach Shane Steichen met with reporters and did not have any updates on whether or not Richardson would be practicing this week.

Richardson would exit Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the Colts second drive after taking a hit to his hip area on a run.

Before leaving the game, Richardson was off to a fast start against what had been the NFL stingiest defense with the Steelers allowing just 8.7 points per game heading into Week 4.

Richardson started the game 3-for-4 for 71 yards, including a 32 yard and 28 yard completions to Michael Pittman. Richardson also rushed for 24 yards as well, with a long of 14 yards.

Behind those big plays coupled with the run game, the Colts marched down the field on their two opening possessions, jumping out to a quick 14-0 lead. Backup quarterback Joe Flacco finished off the second scoring drive after Richardson exited.

Next up on the schedule for the Indianapolis Colts is a matchup in Jacksonville with the 0-4 Jaguars.
