Alabama places interesting object in facility ahead of Vanderbilt game

Inside the Alabama football facility, a rat trap was spotted. This likely stems from one of Nick Saban’s most famous quotes in regards to rat poison.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are coming off of one of its biggest wins in program history. In Week 4, the Crimson Tide defeated the No. 2-ranked Georgia Bulldogs 41-34. On Monday, Alabama began its preparation for their next opponent – the Vanderbilt Commodores. In an interesting series of events, a rat trap was found on the ground inside the football facility.

You may wonder why. Well, there is an interesting backstory behind it. In 2017, following the conclusion of the Alabama-Texas A&M game, Saban voiced his frustrations in regards to the media glorifying his team.

“I’m trying to get our players to listen to me instead of listening to you guys,” Saban said. “All that stuff you write about how good we are. … It’s like poison. It’s like taking poison. Like rat poison.”

The quote resonated with the football program and was passed down to the new coaching staff. The tradition will continue until the end of time. An all-time quote from one of the greatest coaches of all-time has been used to fuel the coaches and players to focus on their weekly opponents rather than listen to the outside noise. Will Alabama avoid the rat poison and take care of business in the Music City? We will find out soon enough.
