Sunday, the Nebraska soccer team faced another big challenge, clashing with No. 15 Penn State. Despite an aggressive showing, the Huskers couldn’t get the ball across the line, falling to the Nittany Lions 1-0.
Penn State kicked the go-ahead goal 15 minutes into the match, allowing them to focus on Nebraska’s offense. The Nittany Lions stood against the Huskers, who shot 17 times in the loss.
Nebraska only managed four shots on goal, each resulting in a Penn State save. The Nittany Lions delivered seven shots, five on goal, with Sami Hauk saving four for the Huskers.
Sarah Weber led Nebraska on offense, firing nine shots, two on goal. Sadie Waite and Florence Belzile each pitched in two shots, one on goal. Jordan Zade also shot twice in the match, neither on goal.
The Huskers’ record drops to 4-7 on the season and 1-4 in the conference. Nebraska will hit the road again for a three-game stretch, starting with a matchup against Wisconsin next Sunday. The match is set for 1:00 p.m. CT on B1G+.
