Philadelphia Eagles sign Jack Stoll to the active roster

With the Eagles banged up and likely to use more 12 personnel on Sunday in Tampa Bay, the team signed Jack Stoll from the practice squad to the active roster on Tuesday.

Britain Covey was placed on injured reserve earlier in the day, and the team could be without A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) for the huge matchup against the Buccaneers.

Stoll was a restricted free agent in March and would have been designated to remain in Philadelphia had GM Howie Roseman offered him a tender. The Eagles opted not to, meaning Stoll could test unrestricted free agency.

Stoll signed with the Giants in free agency but was waived during the 53-man roster cutdowns.

Stoll was more run blocker than pass catcher over his first two seasons in the NFL, and his production diminished whenever Dallas Goedert was out of the lineup.
