Patriots add more OL depth with practice squad signing

The Patriots add to their offensive tackle depth

The New England Patriots added more depth to the offensive line pipeline in the announced signing of tackle Jalen McKenzie to the practice squad.

McKenzie, who went undrafted out of USC in 2022, has bounced around to the Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders practice squads.

The Patriots appear to be getting healthier along the offensive line with Vederian Lowe returning to practice on Monday. However, he was still limited in his work load, and the team needed options at the injury-riddled position. Both Mike Onwenu and Caedan Wallace were banged up last week.

With Lowe still out, a move was expected at some point.

McKenzie hasn’t played in an NFL game. So this will be his opportunity to work with the coaching staff behind the scenes to develop and improve as a player. The Patriots have been a revolving door for offensive linemen on the field.

McKenzie might not find a better opportunity than the one he has right now.
