Looking at the updated bowl projections for Kentucky football

ESPN projects where Kentucky football will play during bowl season after their week four win.

The Kentucky football team was going to have a tough time this season in an expanded SEC, and with one of the most difficult schedules in the country. After four weeks, they stand at 2 – 2 with a match-up with top five Ole Miss coming up.

On Sunday, ESPN updated their 2025 season bowl projections, and Kentucky is on the list. Analysts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach went through every bowl game, and predicted the match-ups.

Bonagura has the Wildcats playing Tulane in the Birmingham Bowl. Schlabach has Kentucky in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Obviously, playing Iowa would be a more high profile game, but either would be a bit disappointing with the excitement around the team before the season.

Kentucky can certainly change things with a big win or two. They narrowly lost to Georgia, and will get chances against some other ranked SEC teams. Win a few of those, and they might find themselves in a bigger bowl game.
