No update from Matt LaFleur on Jordan Love’s status entering Week 4

Matt LaFleur on Jordan Love’s injury status entering Week 4: “I’m sure he’ll be limited (this week), and then work it day by day.”

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur didn’t have an immediate update on Jordan Love’s injury status entering Week 4. Love, who sprained his MCL in the season opener, has missed the last two games, but he practiced all last week and worked out pre-game in Tennessee Sunday.

The Packers listed Love as questionable after he was limited in all three practices during the leadup of Week 3. LaFleur did confirm Love took team reps at practice last week.

Limited will continue to be Love’s status designation from the Packers.

“I’m sure he’ll be limited (this week), and then work it day by day,” LaFleur said Monday.

With Love out, Malik Willis started each of the last two games, helping the Packers get a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts and 30-14 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The Packers face the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. Brian Flores’ defense ranks second in points allowed through three weeks, so getting back Love could be huge in deciding the NFC North showdown.

“He’s working through it,” LaFleur said. “He wants to be out there. We want him out there.”

The Packers will practice Wednesday before releasing the team’s first injury report of Week 4. A final injury report will arrive Friday afternoon.

Predicting what’s ahead probably isn’t difficult. The Packers will list Love as limited at practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and then declare him questionable to play on the final injury report, leaving the door open for him starting Sunday and forcing the Vikings to prepare for both Love and Willis.

The original timeline on Love’s injury — suffered on Sept. 6 in Brazil — was 3-6 weeks. Returning Sunday against the Vikings would put him inside the three-week timeframe.
