Two days after witnessing Colorado football’s thrilling overtime win against Baylor at Folsom Field, weekend visitor Antonio Branch Jr. announced his commitment to the Buffs on Monday morning.
Branch, a class of 2025 defensive back, had been committed to Penn State since mid-June, but his trip to Boulder was seemingly enough to flip his pledge.
“It felt like home to me,” Branch told 247Sports. “Why not get coached by the best to do it?”
The 6-foot-2, 172-pound prospect from Miami was, of course, referencing Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, who now holds eight class of 2025 commitments. Within those eight, Branch and four-star safety Alex Graham represent the only defensive backs.
The 247Sports composite tabs Branch as a three-star prospect and the No. 40 safety in his class. ESPN and On3’s industry ranking both consider Branch a four-star prospect, however.
According to Branch’s X (formerly Twitter) timeline, Colorado extended him an offer earlier this month.
