Notre Dame cornerback will redshirt then transfer after getting his degree

We wish you well Jaden!

When the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program signed cornerback [autotag]Jaden Mickey[/autotag], it was viewed as a massive recruiting win. Mickey was one of the best players coming out his high school class.

The California native played early during his Irish career, playing 11 games during his freshman season in 2022 and even started one of those. As a sophomore, Mickey played in every game, making two starts and getting a huge pick six against Pittsburgh.

Unfortunately, this season has not gone as planned for the junior. He has played sparingly over the first four games. Now Mickey has decided to redshirt the remainder of the year and then enter the transfer portal following the completion of his coursework within his major.

Head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] announced the news during his weekly Monday press conference. Many did not see this outcome for Mickey. While it’s unfortunate he will be leaving the program, he will do so with a Notre Dame degree.

Mickey completes his Irish career with 23 tackles, three passes broken up and the interception.

We wish Jaden the best at whichever school he lands at next.
