Even Sean McVay couldn’t believe what he witnessed on the field at SoFi Stadium on Sunday afternoon. That was made very evident in his opening statement at the podium after the Los Angeles Rams’ wild win over the San Francisco 49ers.
He very candidly had the same reaction that just about every Rams fan had to the win: Holy (expletive). It was an unexpected victory by the Rams, who trailed the 49ers by seven points with 2:48 left in the fourth quarter and by a score of 14-0 in the first half. But they didn’t give up, pulling off one of the best comebacks of the NFL season thus far.

McVay’s mood was very different after this win than it was following last week’s 31-point loss to the Cardinals, and understandably so. He was proud of the fight his team showed, as well as Matthew Stafford’s ability to make up for Los Angeles’ many losses on offense.
At 1-2, the Rams are alive in the NFC West, tied with the 49ers and Cardinals for second place behind the 3-0 Seahawks. And following this win, Los Angeles could have some newfound momentum.
