Washington receives slight bump in Week 4 US LBM Coaches Poll

The Washington Huskies received a few more votes in the latest edition of the Coaches Poll.

The Washington Huskies did exactly what they were expected to against a lackluster Northwestern team, handled business. Coach Jedd Fisch’s team held the Wildcats to just 112 yards as his defense dominated quarterback Jack Lausch, forcing a pair of interceptions in a 24-5 win.

However, following last week’s Apple Cup loss to the Washington State Cougars, the Huskies have a lot of work to do to get back in the good graces of the US LBM Coaches Poll voters. After being ranked at No. 22 coming into the in-state rivalry, Washington received just two votes following the loss.

The victory over the Wildcats didn’t do much to sway that opinion, as the Huskies garnered four extra votes, one more than their Week Five opponents, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Fisch’s team has a tough test on their hands, as Washington will have to travel across the country to Piscataway, New Jersey, on a short week for their first road test against coach Greg Schiano’s 3-0 team.
