Bengals star WR Tee Higgins says he’s ready to go vs. Commanders

Bengals star Tee Higgins says he’s ready to go for Monday night vs. Commanders.

The Washington Commanders have their work cut out on Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Commanders must find a way to get pressure on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and cover wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Washington’s job will likely be even more difficult on Monday as wide receiver Tee Higgins says he’s returning to action against the Commanders.

Higgins, the fifth-year wide receiver who has missed the first two games with a hamstring injury, has participated in practice throughout the week.

“I feel great,” Higgins said Friday via ESPN. “Obviously, unfortunate with the injury, sat out the first two weeks but finally ready to get my feet wet this season and ready to go.”

With Higgins out, the Bengals relied on wide receiver Andrei Iosivas and tight end Mike Gesicki to help Chase in the passing game. Gesicki is tied with Chase for the team lead in receptions and leads the team in receiving yards.

The 6-foot-4 Higgins has gone over 1,000 yards receiving in three of his first four NFL seasons and is playing this season on the franchise tag.
