Denver Broncos second-year cornerback Riley Moss won a starting job this summer and he’s held his own through the team’s first two games of the 2024 season.
Broncos star cornerback Pat Surtain likes what he’s seen thus far.
“I’ve seen a significant amount of progress in his game, and it carries over and it translates because he just goes out here and puts the work in every day at practice and it shows on the field,” Surtain said of Moss.
“When you have a guy like that that’s getting better each and every week, you have no shortage of confidence in his game. Riley has been the key piece to our defense, and we’re looking to build with him.”
Combined, Geno Smith and Justin Fields posted 89.9 passer ratings when targeting Moss this season. While not an amazing number, it is lower than the two-game ratings Smith (97.4) and Fields (94.4) have posted in 2024.
Moss is still looking for his first pass breakup and first interception, but he has totaled 15 tackles so far this fall. The cornerback is trending in the right direction, and he’s got the backing of Surtain.
