Panthers turn to Andy Dalton at QB, which could be fun for Cardinals in December

The Cardinals have beaten Dalton four straight times with four different teams.

The Arizona Cardinals don’t play the Carolina Panthers until Week 15, but the Panthers made a quarterback decision that could have Cardinals fans a little excited.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales has benched second-year quarterback Bryce Young and will have Andy Dalton start in Week 3.

A lot could happen between now and Week 15, but this could give the Cardinals a fun opportunity — facing Dalton again.

Why is it fun?

It is because the Cardinals have just eaten Dalton alive. They had a break in 2023 but Dalton started against them in four straight years with four different teams, and the Cardinals beat him every time.

Dalton hasn’t beaten the Cardinals since 2011, his rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Cardinals beat him in 2019 when he was the Bengals’ starter. They beat him in 2020 when he started for the Dallas Cowboys, replacing an injured Dak Prescott. They beat him in 2021 when he started in place of an injured Justin Field. And they beat him in 2022 when he started for the Saints in place of an injured Jameis Winston.

If Dalton is still starting in December, can they make it five wins over Dalton with five different teams in six years?
