UNC basketball visits a top target in 2026 class

The UNC basketball program visited a big four-star recruiting target last week.

The North Carolina Tar Heels’ basketball program has been on the road a lot lately visiting recruits as they look to build their 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes. Without a commitment in either class, they are hoping to snag one soon and are putting in the work to further relationships with targets.

One of those players is 2026 small forward Cole Cloer.

The North Carolina native is a four-star recruit out of Greensboro that has 10 offers in his recruitment so far. The Tar Heels are one of the teams that has offered him and are showing significant interest.

While it’s still very early in his recruitment, UNC is making sure they are a focal point for Cloer as an in-state program. And last week, they were in to see the talented recruit.

Per Justin Byerly, the Tar Heels were in to see Cloer for an in-home visit as the open period is back rolling again.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound small forward is ranked No. 23 nationally, the No. 9 small forward and No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

Along with UNC, he also has offers from Georgetown, Illinois, NC State, Tennessee, Louisville and Wake Forest among others. Cloer’s recruitment is one to keep an eye on as he will be a priority in-state target for Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels.
