Following the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 2 performance against the Green Bay Packers, Pro Football Focus has now handed out their individual grades.
So who were the top defenders for the Colts by these metrics?
Before taking a closer look at that, I do want to acknowledge that PFF’s grades are just one of what should many tools used to evaluate a player’s performance. It is not the be-all-end-all.
Below is a look at PFF’s grading system to provide some context behind the numbers:
90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor
With that in mind, here is which three players on defense for the Colts had the best days, according to PFF.

DT Grover Stewart
PFF grade: 73.6
On a day where the Packers only dropped back to pass 14 times, Stewart didn’t generate any pressures, but he did have five total tackles in the run game, including two stops–or as PFF defines it, plays that constitute a “loss” for the offense.
DE Dayo Odeyingbo
PFF grade: 71.3
Like Stewart, Odeyingbo didn’t record any pass rush pressures with limited opportunities, but he had four tackles in the run game, all of which were considered stops.
CB Sam Womack
PFF grade: 68.0
Both Womack and Dallis Flowers saw snaps opposite of Jaylon Jones on Sunday. Womack’s stat sheet was clean, which I suppose is good for a cornerback. He had one tackle and wasn’t targeted in the passing game–although, again, opportunities for that were limited.
