Colts News: What else happened in the AFC South in Week 2?

Let’s take a quick look around the AFC South to see what happened in Week 2 to the Colts’ divisional opponents.

The Indianapolis Colts dropped their Week 2 matchup against the Green Bay Packers to fall to 0-2. We know that part, but what happened around the rest of the AFC South?

The Texans beat out the Chicago Bears 19-13 on Sunday Night football to improve to 2-0. It was tough sledding at times for the Houston offense, but the defense was able to help secure the win, getting after rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and sacking him seven times.

CJ Stroud completed 23-of-36 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown. Nico Collins again led the Texans in receiving with 135 yards and a score, while Houston totaled just 75 rushing yards.

Like the Colts, the Titans and Jaguars would both fall to 0-2 as well on Sunday. Tennessee fell to the New York Jets 24-17. First year head coach Brian Callahan did have the Titans offense finding some success, but much like last week, turnovers ultimately became too much for them to overcome.

Will Levis completed 19-of-28 passes for 192 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Tony Pollard’s 62 rushing yards led the Titans on the ground while Calvin Ridley had 77 yards through the air.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars loss 18-13 to the Cleveland Browns. On a rainy day, the Browns defense controlled much of the game, but a late push by Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars offense gave them a chance at the win. Down 13-18 with eight seconds left, Lawrence’s pass to the end zone fell incomplete.

Lawrence was just 14-of-30 passing on the day, for 220 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Travis Etienne rushed for 52 yards and rookie Brian Thomas had 94 yards on two receptions.

As alluded to, the Texans sit at the top of the division at 2-0, while the Colts, Jaguars, and Texans are all 0-2.

Next week, the Jaguars play at Buffalo, the Colts are at home against the Bears, the Texans are at Minnesota, and the Titans are home to face Green Bay.
