Washington drops out of US LBM Coaches Poll after devastating Apple Cup loss

The Washington Huskies took a big tumble in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Unsurprisingly, the Washington Huskies took a big stumble and found themselves outside the US LBM Coaches Poll after suffering an abysmal 24-19 loss at the hands of the Washington State Cougars in the Apple Cup.

Coach Jedd Fisch’s team was in the game the entire afternoon. However, behind an almost unfathomable 16 penalties for 135 yards and a dismal 4 for 13 conversion rate on third down, the Huskies looked like a far cry from the disciplined squad that didn’t give up any touchdowns in the first two weeks.

After climbing to No. 22 following their 30-9 victory over Eastern Michigan, Washington took a major tumble and received just two votes. Meanwhile, adding insult to injury, their in-state rivals climbed up to the outskirts of the top 25, receiving 38 points which moved them to No. 27 in the extended rankings.

With the Huskies preparing for a matchup with Northwestern to begin Big Ten play, Fisch’s team has a lot of work to do to get back into the good graces of the voters.
