Texas A&M is back in the Top 25 in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll

Texas A&M’s 33-20 victory over Florida has vaulted the Aggies into the Top 25 rankings

Texas A&M (2-1, 1-0 SEC) defeated the Florida Gators (1-2, 0-1 SEC) on the road on Saturday afternoon, ending the Aggies’ 10-game SEC road losing streak, while earning head coach Mike Elko his first conference win of the season.

The storyline that will continue into the week is starting quarterback Conner Weigman’s game-time decision to miss the game due to a shoulder injury, leading to redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed making his first career start. As one of the most athletic players on the roster, Reed accounted for 84 rushing yards coupled with 117 passing yards and three touchdowns on the day.

However, Texas A&M’s running game and dominance in the trenches controlled the offense and made Reed’s job much easier. Still, Weigman’s health status will be the week’s storyline, as Reed was good enough to start against Bowling Green next Saturday.

Around the league, UNLV’s win over Kansas has vaulted Runnin’ Rebels into the rankings, while Tennesee moved up two spots after scoring 71 points against Kent State.

After the win, Texas A&M is now in the US LBM Top 25 at No. 24, while Georgia’s close win vs. Kentucky was apparently good enough to stay at No. 1. Here is the remainder of the US LBM Top 25 rankings.
