Packers WR Jayden Reed expected to play vs. Colts

Despite a questionable listing, Green Bay Packers receiver Jayden Reed is expected to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Reed, who led the NFL in receiving yards in Week 1, injured his calf/shin at some point on Thursday or Friday and was added to the injury report as a limited participant at practice on Friday.

The Packers need Reed’s playmaking ability. Jordan Love was downgraded to doubtful and isn’t expected to play, so Reed — and his speed and versatility — will be important to getting the most out of backup Malik Willis.

In Week 1, Reed turned five touches into 171 total yards. He scored a 33-yard rushing touchdown and a 70-yard receiving touchdown, and he finished with four plays of 20 or more yards.

While the Packers won’t have Love, they should have a full complement of weapons around Willis. It’ll fall on the shoulders of coach Matt LaFleur to find ways of getting the ball from Willis to the playmakers in a consistent fashion on Sunday against the Colts.

Reed played in 16 of 17 regular season games for the Packers last season. He led the team in catches and total touchdowns.

The Packers and Colts are scheduled for a noon kickoff from Lambeau Field on Sunday. Inactives will be announced around 10:30 a.m. local time.
