CBS Sports predicts fascinating bowl matchup for LSU against Big Ten team

The Tigers have a thin margin for error if they want to remain in College Football Playoff contention.

Two weeks into the 2024 season, LSU already has some ground to make up if it wants to be in College Football Playoff contention by the end of the season.

A loss to USC in Week 1 made the margin for error fairly thin when this team gets to SEC play, and in his latest bowl projections, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm predicts a landing spot that would probably be widely viewed as disappointing for Tigers fans.

Palm has LSU playing in the Music City Bowl in Nashville on Dec. 30, but he does project an interesting matchup against a Nebraska team searching for its first bowl berth since 2016.

The Cornhuskers look improved in Year 2 under Matt Rhule after a convincing win over Colorado, but LSU will hope it draws a more high-profile postseason matchup than the Music City Bowl.
