Jonah Coleman named one of the NFL Draft’s biggest risers through 2 weeks

Jonah Coleman is becoming a popular name in NFL draft circles.

It didn’t take long for Washington Huskies fans to realize that they have a star on their hands in running back Jonah Coleman.

Through two games, the Arizona transfer has been nothing short of stellar. He’s shown off an impressive combination of burst, short-area quickness, long speed, and power as he’s accrued 231 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 27 carries, good for an average of 8.6 yards per rush.

He’s also added 6 receptions for 48 yards as the Huskies have cruised to their first two victories thanks to a lot of help from Coleman as the 5-foot-9, 230-pound back has put the NFL scouting community on notice. On Monday, Pro Football Focus’ NFL Stock Exchange podcast named him one of the nation’s biggest risers early in the season.

“Coleman’s been awesome,” co-host Connor Rogers said. “He’s a power runner…but he’s got really good feet. He can stop after the handoff, change directions, and cut back the other way. He can make people miss in a phone booth, and at the third level, he can stiff-arm a safety or let two guys jump on his back and rumble forward for another five yards. He looks like a complete running back to me.”

Coleman has forced 13 missed tackles through two games and has an opportunity to make another significant impact in the Apple Cup against Washington State. Through two games, the Cougars have allowed an average of 180.5 yards per game on the ground.
