Week two of the 2024 college football season is officially complete, and as the nation looks ahead to what will happen in week three, a new version of the Associated Press Poll was released.
Following a Auburn’s highly disappointing 21-14 loss at the hands of Cal on Saturday, it finds itself away from the AP Poll entirely after receiving votes for the last two weeks. The same is true for the Tigers’ fate in the US LBM Coaches Poll, no longer receiving votes.
This week’s edition of the rankings shows 11 teams from the SEC being mentioned. Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and South Carolina are all receiving votes after wins in week two. Of the eight teams in the Top 25, six of them are in the top seven with Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Missouri and Tennessee making marks across the country. Oklahoma (No. 15) and LSU (No. 16) round out the conference in this poll.
According to these current rankings, Auburn is set to play six of the conference’s 11 teams that are at a part of these rankings, with the first one being against the Oklahoma Sooners on Sept. 28 in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
