Vikings sign WR Jeshaun Jones to their practice squad

The Vikings re-signed the former Maryland Terrapin back to their practice squad.

With Jordan Addison being in question after sustaining another ankle injury during the Vikings’ win over the Giants on Sunday, Minnesota has made a possible correlating move. Minnesota signed preseason wide receiver Jeshaun Jones to the practice squad. To make room for the former Maryland receiver, the Vikings released Jaylin Williams.

The Vikings were using both Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield Jr. in addition to Jalen Nailor and Justin Jefferson for most of the second half. Minnesota is likely confident in those four if Addison would have to miss a game, but having some insurance is always an important thing.

Jones, an undrafted rookie, spent training camp and the preseason with the Vikings, highlighted by his 71-yard touchdown reception at Cleveland, and finished the exhibition slate with five receptions for 90 yards.

The former Terp was released on August 29 during the roster cutdowns. During his college career, Jones played 48 games at Maryland (2018-23), recording 151 receptions for 2,040 yards and 14 touchdowns.
