The Miami Dolphins got off to a shaky start to their season before climbing out of a 14-0 hole to steal a win from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While the razor tight margin and sluggish first half probably didn’t dispel the Dolphins doubters, a second half shutout and a win against a quality opponent offer reason to believe Miami is a new team in 2024.
But do the experts think so?
On Tuesday, the first wave of power rankings of the regular season came out. Here’s where experts currently rank the Dolphins among the rest of the NFL teams:
- USA Today: 13th
- ESPN: 9th
- NFL.com: 9th
- Yahoo Sports: 9th
- The Athletic: 8th
- Pro Football Talk: 9th
- CBS Sports: 10th
- Bleacher Report: 8th
- Sports Illustrated: 12th
- Dolphins Wire: 8th
Most think the Dolphins are a top 10 team in the NFL right now, but not by much. The looming AFC East grudge match with the Buffalo Bills will go a long way toward convincing viewers if the Dolphins are truly a contender or not.
