Kentucky has offered a top player in the 2027 recruiting class

Kentucky basketball has extended a scholarship offer to 2027 forward Baba Oladotun.

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope is looking to the future. He has landed two top 25 players in 2025, and has begun working on 2026 as well. Now, he’s moved ahead and is looking to 2027 and current top five recruit Baba Oladotun.

Oladotun is a 6’9″, 175 lb forward out of Maryland. On3 has the James Hubert Blake High School product ranked as the number two overall player in the class. He’s rated number one by ESPN.

Pope offered Oladotun a scholarship on Monday, according to Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio. Oladotun’s father told Polacheck “We are super excited. Coach Pope is a cool guy.”

Despite being a part of the 2027 class, he had received a lot of attention. He has offers from the UCLA Bruins, Texas Longhorns, Tennessee Volunteers, and others.

Kentucky is still looking to add some top talent to the 2025 class, but it’s good to see that Pope is looking to the future as well.
