Kentucky women’s soccer takes down number nine UCLA to stay unbeaten

Kentucky women’s soccer got a big win over number nine UCLA on Sunday.

Fans of Wildcats sports got a boost on Sunday after watching Kentucky football suffer a bad loss on Saturday. The women’s soccer team went up against the ninth ranked UCLA Bruins and pulled off the upset by a score of 2 – 0.

Makala Woods and Catherine DeRosa scored the two goals for Kentucky, while the defense shut down the Bruins. It was another huge game from a defense that has been spectacular all season.

The Wildcats record is now 7 – 0 on the season, with a game against Kent State up next before SEC play begins on September 19th. It’s their best start since 2011.

Coming into the game, UCLA had only given up one goal for the year. Kentucky’s offense doubled that, and let their own formidable defense do the rest. The Wildcats have only given up two goals in their seven games played.

The Cats play Kent State on Friday at 7:30 PM ET. The game is in Lexington.
