Penn State jumps ahead of Oregon in new AP Top 25

Penn State is now the second highest-ranked Big Ten team in the new media poll.

Penn State did not see any change to its ranking in the Week 2 AP Top 25, but the Nittany Lions did climb ahead of another Big Ten team in the new media poll.

Penn State did move up one spot in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll, moving from no. 8 up to no. 7. Penn State is also no. 8 in the new Super 16 Poll from the FWAA and National Football Foundation, dropping one spot in that ranking since last week.

Georgia continues to pace the AP poll with 54 first-place votes in their favor. Texas moved ahead of Ohio State for the second spot in the rankings following a big road win at Michigan. The Buckeyes moved to no. 3 and the Wolverines tumbled down from no. 10 to no. 17.

The Big Ten has five teams in the new AP Top 25. Ohio State, Pen State, and Oregon all rank in the top 10, and USC is sitting at no. 11. Michigan remains in the top 20 and Nebraska makes an appearance this week at no. 23 after taking care of Colorado at home on Saturday night. Iowa, which fell to Iowa State, stumbled out of the top 25 this week.
