Bengals could be without two major starters against Patriots

The Bengals could be without two key weapons on Sunday

The Cincinnati Bengals may be down two key players for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.

Wide receiver Tee Higgins is doubtful with a hamstring injury, while Ja’Marr Chase is questionable, per the team’s injury report on Friday. Chase is still waiting for a new contract from the organization, and even if he does play in the opener, he told reporters he would “probably be limited.”

This is a major development for the Patriots, as they were heavy underdogs entering this matchup. Higgins recorded 42 catches for 656 yards and five touchdowns last year, while Chase had 100 catches for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns. Together, the two combined to form a dynamic duo for the Bengals.

Chase and Higgins both potentially being limited or out entirely would may make life easier for the Patriots’ secondary. Could it be impactful enough to help New England pull off a shocking upset?

We’ll see what happens when the teams go toe-to-toe at Paycor Stadium on Sunday.
