Michigan State football QB Aidan Chiles struggles big time in opener

Aidan Chiles of the Michigan State Spartans struggled big time in his team’s narrow win over Florida Atlantic.

Despite all the talk from Michigan State Aidan Chiles about “bet the over”, the Michigan State and Florida Atlantic game stayed well under. The two teams finished with a combined 26 points in the Spartans win on Friday night.

One of the biggest surprises of the week came when the Pro Football Focus quarterback numbers came out following Week 1. Chiles came in at 11th, which was in the bottom half of the conference. The folks over at SpartansWire discussed it, and what it means for the former four-star signal caller.

Chiles went on record a couple of times during preseason press conferences when asked about how he and his teammates would perform in the season opener.

“Bet the over.”

Despite the struggles for the signal caller, the Spartans picked up a much-needed win. Now, Michigan State will start Big Ten Conference play. The Spartans are on the road at Maryland on Saturday. They spent two weeks back in non-conference play, before they host Ohio State at the end of September.
