Isaiah Likely’s toe was just barely out of bounds on Ravens’ failed game-tying TD against Chiefs

Football is a game of… toes.

The Baltimore Ravens were a toe away from at least tying up Thursday night’s season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs during the very last second of the fourth quarter.

However, Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely stepped just a little bit out of the end zone to nullify the thrilling would-be touchdown throw from quarterback Lamar Jackson to seal the 27-20 win for the Chiefs.

Likely looked like he had secured the chance at tying the game (or winning it with a two-point conversion) at first, but replay showed that the tight end’s toe just barely crossed the barrier of being in bounds and out of bounds.

What an absolutely brutal finish for Baltimore, and what a deep sigh of relief for Kansas City. Football really is back.
