Darryn Peterson is one of the top recruits in the 2025 class, and Kentucky has been working hard to get him to Lexington. It looks like that won’t happen, though, as the Wildcats have been eliminated from consideration.
Peterson is ranked as the number three overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247sports. He’s rated five stars and is the number one combo guard of the group.

Peterson is now down to four schools, with Kentucky not being one of them. USC, Ohio State, Kansas State, and Kansas are the programs still in the running for his services per On3’s Joe Tipton.
Mark Pope and his staff have already landed a top 25 recruit in Malachi Moreno, and are predicted to land top ten player Jasper Johnson. Braylon Mullins is another recruit Kentucky is working hard to land. With Peterson out of the running, Kentucky is sure to work even harder to land the other targets on their list.
