Former Vikings QB Jaren Hall signs with Seattle Seahawks

The former fifth-round pick will be heading West to Seattle.

After choosing to keep Nick Mullens on the roster and sign Brett Rypien, it all but effectively ended former fifth-round pick Jaren Hall’s tenure with the Vikings. Minnesota wanted to keep Hall and bring him back on the practice squad, but the Seattle Seahawks swooped the former BYU quarterback up and signed him to their practice squad.

Reporter Darren Wolfson confirmed the Vikings wanted to keep Hall. But Seattle might’ve been even higher on the second-year gunslinger. According to Wolfson, Seattle wanted Hall back in the 2023 NFL Draft and even attempted to acquire Hall from the Vikings this offseason.

After Kirk Cousins went down last year, Hall started a game for Minnesota. Hall started against the Atlanta Falcons and went 5-for-6 for 78 yards before he suffered an injury. Then fans will all remember what happened next: Joshua Dobbs’ mania.

The Vikings will enter Sunday with three quarterbacks and future starter J.J. McCarthy rehabbing for next season.
