Big Ten loses just one game in Week 1

It was a good weekend for the Big Ten.

The first full week of the college football season has come to an end for the 18-team, new-look Big Ten Conference. And, it went as expected.

Most of the Big Ten had cupcake games, although some teams had a more difficult time than expected (shout out to Oregon).

At the end of it all, the Big Ten lost just one game in Week 1, which was Minnesota’s loss to North Carolina on Thursday night.

PJ Fleck and the Golden Gophers had a chance to kick the game-winning field goal, but it was no good as Mack Brown and the Tar Heels got their first win in the post-Drake Maye era.

In fact, there were only two programs that didn’t play a home game in Week 1. Penn State played West Virginia in Morgantown, and UCLA traveled to Hawaii.

In Week 2, there are some intriguing games: Iowa-Iowa State and Michigan-Texas, among others.
