Former Notre Dame linebacker announces retirement from football

The former Irish linebacker is hanging up his cleats

Former Notre Dame linebacker [autotag]Bo Bauer[/autotag] had a great career with the Irish, playing in every season he was on the team, starting two years.

He was the consummate team player, stepping aside during his graduate season and playing special teams. Bauer went undrafted last year, but worked hard enough to earn a three-year contact with the Washington Commanders.

He was recently released after suffering a lower-body injury during a practice. According to this report, the two parties reached an injury settlement. On Monday, Bauer announced his retirement from football on his Instagram page, citing a second knee injury that ended his season.

It’s unfortunate he will not be able to play on Sundays, but we know that whatever is next for Bauer, he’ll surely excel.
