While Colorado didn’t score quite as many points compared to other victorious Week 1 Power Four teams, senior quarterback Shedeur Sanders was electric in the Buffs’ 31-26 win over North Dakota State.
Pro Football Focus released a list of the highest-graded Power Four QBs from Week 1 and Sanders ranked No. 9 with a game score of 90.7. The Colorado signal-caller threw for 445 yards and four touchdowns while hitting 26 of his 34 passes. His only knock — besides an ill-advised throw to LaJohntay Wester late in the game — came in the third quarter when NDSU secured an interception that could only be described as pure luck.
Ole Miss gunslinger Jaxson Dart led all Power Four QBs with a game score of 95.7 in the Rebels’ 76-0 win over Furman. Dart was followed by Purdue’s Hudson Card (94.9) and new USC Trojans starter Miller Moss (93.4)
Sanders, the Big 12’s highest-graded Week 1 quarterback, will look to dismantle the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ defense on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MT (NBC).
