A few uniform number notes for the Green Bay Packers coming out of final cuts: new quarterback Malik Willis, who was acquired via trade with the Tennessee Titans, is taking No. 2, while cornerback Carrington Valentine is switching from No. 37 to No. 24.
Willis wore No. 7 in high school at Roswell, in college at Liberty and in the NFL with the Titans, but that number is occupied by linebacker Quay Walker. He’ll take No. 2, which was vacated by kicker Greg Joseph when he was released on Wednesday. Mason Crosby is the most notable former Packers to wear the number.
Valentine is getting closer to the No. 14 he wore at Kentucky. He’ll take No. 24, which was vacated by safety Tyler Coyle when he was released during training camp. No. 14 is retired in Green Bay for Don Hutson.
Hall of Famer Willie Wood once wore No. 24 in Green Bay. Recent former Packers to wear the number include Tariq Carpenter, Isaac Yiadom, Raven Greene, Quinten Rollins and Jarrett Bush.
The Packers’ official Twitter account had a mockup of Valentine in the new digits:

The Packers have yet to announce the acquisition of kicker Brayden Narveson. He wore No. 44 at North Carolina State and No. 47 during training camp and the preseason with the Titans, and both numbers are currently available with the Packers.
UPDATE: Narveson will wear No. 44.
On the practice squad, running back Nate McCrary switched from No. 30 to No. 46, while receiver Jalen Wayne is now No. 86, which was held by Grant DuBose (now with the Dolphins).
