Texas A&M’s Terry Bussey named to Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Watchlist

Texas A&M freshman makes the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Preseason Watchlist.

No matter how much Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko has tried to temper expectations for 5-star athlete Terry Bussey, the college football world can’t help but pile on. After being named to the On3 preseason Freshman All-American team a week ago, Bussey has now made the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Preseason Watchlist.

In 2019, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced that there would be a new nationally recognized college football award – The Freshman Player of The Year. In honor of his tremendous freshman season for the Alabama Crimson Tide, they named this award after Shaun Alexander.

Interestingly enough, he is not listed on the offensive or defensive tentative depth chart but is penciled in as the punt returner. He will get to show off his athletic ability in front of the world Saturday night when they face off against Notre Dame at Kyle Field.
