The Miami Dolphins’ offensive line depth got even thinner Wednesday with the team opting to release Jack Driscoll.
General manager Chris Grier announced the move during a press conference Wednesday, explaining that it was a way to clear space on the roster for wide receiver Grant DuBose, who was claimed off the waiver wire.
Driscoll, 27, was added by the Dolphins as a free agent earlier this year on a one-year deal. Prior to joining Miami, the lineman spent four years with the Philadelphia Eagles, who picked him in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft.
Following the move, the Dolphins have nine offensive linemen on the active roster, including a pair of rookies: second-round pick Patrick Paul and undrafted center Andrew Meyer.
Driscoll was listed on the depth chart as the second-team right guard, ahead of veteran Lester Cotton at the position. In preseason, Driscoll was credited by PFF with allowing two pressures in 70 pass blocking snaps.
