The Jaguars are signing linebacker Tanner Muse to their practice squad, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Muse’s signing marks Jacksonville’s first reported addition to its 2024 practice squad.
Jacksonville released Muse on Monday amid the club’s preseason roster cutdowns, following his first preseason with the club. He signed with the Jaguars during training camp in July.
Muse recorded five tackles and one defended pass over 68 total snaps and three games this preseason.
A third-round pick by the Raiders in 2020, Muse has recorded 22 tackles and one defended pass in 33 regular season games, with Las Vegas, Seattle, Pittsburgh and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Muse starred alongside Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne Jr. from 2018-19 during his five-year career at Clemson, where he played safety.
The former third-team All-American and two-time All-ACC third-team defensive back logged 192 tackles including 10.5 for loss, four sacks, seven interceptions, 21 defended passes and one forced fumble over 58 games with the Tigers.
