NASCAR will continue its recent trend of trying something new with the addition of Mexico to the 2025 Cup Series schedule.

On June 15, 2025, Mexico City will be the first Cup Series points venue outside of the United States since 1958. However, it’ll be a return for NASCAR to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course, which hosted Xfinity Series events from 2005 through 2008.

But most importantly, it checks the box NASCAR has been working toward for quite some time by once again taking its top series international. NASCAR executive vice president and chief venue and racing innovation officer Ben Kennedy addressed the media after the announcement was made Tuesday morning, including explaining why going international has been the goal and why Mexico was the chosen location.
