Deion Sanders says he’s ‘just getting started in college football’

While he’ll no longer coach his sons after this season, Deion Sanders is “just getting started in college football”

While his sons’ days playing for the Buffs are limited, second-year Colorado leader Deion Sanders reaffirmed that his college football coaching journey is only beginning.

Sanders has coached his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, for nearly their entire lives, including stops at Trinity Christian High School, Jackson State University and now Colorado. This upcoming season will mark their last together and despite what some may believe, Coach Prime has no intentions of leaving the college game once his sons depart.

Here’s what Coach Prime said during a press conference on Saturday:

“This is not the last go-’round for me, I’m just getting started in college football,” Sanders said. “I don’t think it’s the closing (chapter), there’s just different levels to this thing. Although I’m 100% sure I’m not going to be their coach next year, I’m still gonna have influence on their lives because I’m their father.”

Coach Prime’s final season with his two youngest sons will kick off Thursday evening against North Dakota State.
