‘The Sheriff’ meets … the sheriff (and he has a cool caddie)

Peyton Manning, ‘The Sheriff,’ met DC’s sheriff at the BWM Championship. Manning competed in the pro-am with Brandon Stokley as his caddie.

Peyton Manning, a.k.a “The Sheriff,” participated in the pro-am portion of the BMW Championship at the Castle Pines Golf Club earlier this week.

While at the golf tournament, Manning met Sheriff Darren Weekly, who serves as the sheriff of Douglas County in Colorado.

“We just couldn’t resist: The Sheriff with ‘The Sheriff,'” The DC sheriff’s office tweeted on Wednesday. “@SheriffWeekly had the pleasure of meeting former Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning on the 9th hole of the @BMWchamps ProAm. Manning, famously nicknamed “The Sheriff” by Jon Gruden for how he “lays down the law” in opposing teams’ stadiums, took a moment to chat with our very own Sheriff.”

Now that’s a photo op.

And get this — Manning’s caddie was a former teammate:

That’s right, that’s retired wide receiver Brandon Stokley, who played with Manning with the Indianapolis Colts from 2003-2006 and again with the Broncos in 2012. Manning and Stokley remain close friends.
