One week from tomorrow! Football will be back, and life will be better. Bruins football will be underway in Hawaii. After all the workouts and practices, the media conferences and headlines. The game will be on the field.
There are no 8’s on the current roster for this season. So, today, we are going to highlight a couple players we did not get to during the countdown series.
First up – wearing 88 – Moliki Matavao – the 6’6, 263lbs senior tight end is ready for a monster season with the Bruins. From Liberty High School, and originally from the Oregon Ducks he had a big impact last season, starting six games. He was named honorable mention all Pac-12. He had eight catches on the season of 20+ years, so his ability to be a big gain threat is real.
Second – wearing 73 – Alani Makihele. The 6;3, 350lbs redshirt junior is expected to be a force on the offensive line. His job is to keep Ethan Garbers on his feet this season. Makihele went to UNLV to start his college career, and came from Alaska. He came to UCLA In June, and the coaching staff is excited about his ability. Last season, he started 11 games for UNLV, who went to a bowl game.
