The Kansas City Chiefs and every NFL team will reduce their rosters to 53 players over the next few days. Several players, including Super Bowl champions over the last few seasons, are on the bubble.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke with reporters after Thursday’s preseason finale, addressing several topics, including wide receiver Kadarius Toney.

“We went through last year with him (Toney). So we kind of know what he is. He’s a talented kid, and he’s in a battle to make the team and all that bad, but we’ve never questioned the talent there at all.” said Reid. “So it’s just him staying healthy, (which was) the main thing.”

Toney caught two passes for 26 yards during his short stint on the field against the Chicago Bears. He also returned a punt for 16 yards, adding to his resume a reminder of the versatility he can bring to the team.

Toney has battled an injury from training camp again and hopes to rebound from a disappointing 2023 season. He finished last season with 169 yards and a touchdown on 27 receptions.
