As fans prepare for the 2024-2025 women’s basketball season, the SEC released its conference slate on Wednesday. The Longhorns will play eight home and eight road games against SEC teams. Although the season is still weeks away, fans can begin marking their calendars.
The Longhorns’ conference slate begins on Thursday, January 2, against Oklahoma. At home, they will play Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. They will then go on the road to face Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. Their first road conference game will be against Florida on Sunday, March 2.

After the regular season ends, the Longhorns will shift focus to securing their first SEC title. The 2025 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, which will feature all 16 teams, will begin on March 5 and conclude on March 9. It is set to be held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
While the Longhorns have plenty of intriguing games, their most challenging matchups on paper are LSU and South Carolina. They are two of the best programs in the sport and make up for the last three national championships. Those matchups should pack arenas and be a prime opportunity for Texas to prove themselves.
In their final year in the Big 12, Texas went 14-14 in conference play. The only team with a better record was Oklahoma, which went 15-3.
