The UCLA Bruins football season begins on August 31 with a road game against Hawaii. Most of the roster spots are set regarding who will start and who will come off the bench.
But, one area still up in the air involves special teams. Head coach DeShaun Foster mentioned that both the punter and kicker spots are undecided, per Ben Bolch of The Los Angeles Times.
“DeShaun Foster said the punter battle remains up for grabs between Chase Barry and Brody Richter and the same for the kicker competition between Mateen Bhaghani and Blake Glessner.”
Brody Richter transferred to UCLA from Northern Arizona and Mateen Bhaghani transferred from Cal, so both incoming players are hoping they can land the starting spot.
The battle between the special teams players should be decided soon with opening day right around the corner.
