Husker Tommi Hill first-round selection in latest ESPN mock draft

Tommi Hill is headed out west in a recent ESPN mock draft.

Nebraska football did not have any players selected in last year’s NFL draft but that could change in the near future. Corner Tommi Hill was recently projected to the San Francisco 49ers with the 32nd overall selection in the latest mock draft from ESPN’s Field Yates

Hill is coming off a stellar 2023 season that saw him record 26 total tackles and four interceptions. He became a dependable player in the Nebraska football secondary and is now one of 10 players to wear single-digit numbers for 2024.

As Yates noted in his piece, the 49ers will be in the market for secondary depth, as both Charvarius Ward and Deommodore Lenoir will be free agents. This would be an opportunity for Hill to take the reins in the secondary and give them depth to build on further for the future.

Nebraska football has not had a first-round pick since Prince Amukamara went to the Giants in 2011 at 19th overall. Hill could easily break the trend with another strong season.
