Mic’d-up Andy Reid was hilariously unimpressed with Patrick Mahomes’ behind-the-back pass

He was so unbothered.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had much of the NFL world in disbelief last weekend when he actually broke out a behind-the-back pass for a first down to Travis Kelce against the Lions in preseason.

It was an astoundingly impressive play, which we later learned was improvised. But when you watch Mahomes as often as head coach Andy Reid does, the Chiefs head coach has learned to expect the unexpected. That looked to be the case with that behind-the-back pass.

Mic’d-up footage from NFL Films lined up a replay of the pass with Reid’s reaction on the sidelines. And Reid was so locked in to the next play that he really didn’t care that Mahomes went behind the back.

Reid’s immediate reaction was to ask the booth where the Chiefs were at and work up a first-down play call. He was so unbothered.

Fans loved how calm Reid was after that play as well.
